Gateway Church is a church plant in the “Bridgend Valleys Gateway” in South Wales. We are in independent evangelical church with links to the Advance sphere of New Frontiers. We started public meetings in June 2021 but have an exciting story of God’s leading, timing and providence.

Rhod (our Pastor) and his wife Katie have felt called by God to serve the church in South Wales for a number of years. They eventually felt the specific call to the villages of Sarn, Bryncethin, Brynmenyn, Aberkenfig and Tondu, which collectively form the “Bridgend Valleys Gateway”. A small group of people were sent out from Grace Community Church Porthcawl late in 2019 with the aim of seeing a church established in the area.

During the pandemic we had to be creative in finding ways to meet together and build community, and it certainly meant a lot more zoom meetings than we'd have liked! But on reflection, God used those extraordinary circumstances to build his church plant as he needed to.

We held our first service on Sunday 20th June 2021 and have been meeting at Tondu Cricket Club ever since.
